Bobby Jones

Back in 1982, when the only Tim Horton’s was clear across town and drive-thrus didn’t exist yet, I started my career in television at Kamloops, BC. You wear a lot of hats in a small market: anchor, reporter, cameraman, editor and producer. I did them all. It was a great way to learn!

I moved on to CTV Saskatoon, first as a Cameraman (wow, cameras were heavy back then) and later as a writer/producer/director. From there I headed west to CTV Edmonton.

After 13 years with CTV, I took the plunge and started my own video production company named Bobby Jones Productions in 1999. Later, we became Corner 24 Media. (Who knew that a famous golfer named Bobby Jones, from the 1920s, would gobble up all the good Bobby Jones domain names. My ball was in the rough!)

I love what we do and still get really excited about coming up with new creative ideas for our clients.

Back in the late 80s when shoulder pads were big and earrings resembled medium sized satellite dishes, I got my start at a local Edmonton TV station reporting on the local arts and entertainment scene. Later, I covered the same beat for Global TV and went on to co-host and produce a lifestyle show called “The Edge”.

For 3 years, I had to set my alarm at 4am to do some time at a local radio station as co-host of a morning show.

For the past 12 years, I’ve enjoyed working behind the scenes with some awesome clients writing, producing, and directing commercials, training and corporate videos, and live events.

The shoulder pads are gone. The earrings are smaller. But my love for our industry is bigger than ever.
